Snapfish by HP today announced its support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America.
The No. 1 online photo service:
- is introducing WISH! custom cover photo books and new template designs, with 30 percent of the purchase price going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation;
- is donating WISH! photo books to Make-A-Wish® kids and their families; and
- has helped grant the wish of 16-year-old Michael from Blackfoot, Idaho, who dreams of becoming a graphics expert.
The WISH! photo books will be available for purchase in time for the holidays at the Snapfish Make-A-Wish Store. Thirty percent of the purchase price from the sales of the books through Dec. 31, 2010, will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Snapfish also will provide customizable WISH! photo books for wish kids and their families for one year. The families will be able to host their own online Group Rooms at Snapfish to share moments with friends and family and create more than 100 personalized projects with their photos.
Snapfish grants Michael’s wish
Snapfish worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help grant the wish of Michael, whose wish was to receive a computer to help him pursue his dream of becoming a comic illustrator and animation and computer graphics professional.
Snapfish and HP (NYSE:HPQ) helped Michael’s wish come true by connecting him with Doug Cole, a former HP employee and award-winning professional screenwriter, and Kari Homan, an HP employee and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho volunteer. The company donated an HP Workstation equipped with Adobe® software. As part of his wish, Michael also met Bill Carmen, a renowned illustration professor at Boise State University, and attended his class to learn more about the world of animation.
“We wanted to offer something unique to both the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to the amazing children it represents,” said Ben Nelson, general manager, Snapfish by HP. “In supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, we hope to help children like Michael cherish and relive their wishes again and again.”
“We are thrilled for Snapfish to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation through its WISH! photo books and online photo sharing Group Rooms designed for our wish families,” said David Williams, president and chief executive officer, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. “Together, we will be able to create lasting memories of wishes for the wish kids and their families to share.”
